The Key is a Big Lottery funded project for young women aged 13-25 who have experienced or who are at risk of experiencing, domestic abuse or unhealthy relationships. We offer support via group work and additional individual support as needed. Group session topics include, healthy friendships, safety planning, consent, assertiveness, grooming, the impact of abuse on children and managing stress and low mood.
Our weekly groups are in held in or close to the city centre, we offer support with transport and snacks. We make sure it’s a safe space so all of the young women feel able to talk about things going on for them when they feel ready and also enjoy themselves.
The project offers –
- A weekly morning group for young women aged 16-25 with crèche facilities provided
- A weekly evening group for girls & young women aged 13-18
- Group work programmes consisting of 6-8 sessions that are available free to schools and other youth settings in Leeds
