Volunteer Drop-In Support Worker
WHM are looking for a team of Drop-In support workers to support our group workers with weekly drop-in sessions.
This role will include setting up and cleaning down the space each week, supporting to collate all resources for the session beforehand, welcoming women into the space, making hot drinks on arrival and supporting facilitators with activities.
We are looking for volunteers with some of the following skills, however training will be provided.
Computer literacy skills
Strong organisational skills
Excellent communication skills
Good understanding of WHM’s work and key messages
Understanding of confidentiality and handling sensitive information
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Role Title Drop-In Support Worker
Hours 2-3 hours, Friday AM, 10:00-11:30am
Reports to Group Project Lead
This role will require a DBS check
Main purpose of the role
To support project workers with the facilitation of weekly drop-in sessions run by WHM.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Key Tasks
Setting up the room
Supporting to collate all resources for the session beforehand (this at times may also include buying refreshments, which will be reimbursed)
Supporting service users in to the room and making them feel welcome
Making hot drinks on arrival
Supporting project workers with activities. This could include but is not limited to:
Scribing on flipchart
Facilitating small group discussions
Supporting with the completion of handouts
Abide by and implement all WHM’s policies and procedures
Articulate and promote WHM’s philosophy and value base through the organisation, it’s work and projects with external partners and on social media.
To be accountable to WHM members and Board of Trustees.
