Inside Out is a city wide parenting course for women who have children who are being looked after by someone else, this can be through adoption, foster care or any other kind of kinship or special guardianship order.
It is a 20 week course to help strengthen parenting skills and improve mental wellbeing through understanding how previous or current domestic violence or exploitation have impacted them and their parenting.
Funded by the Charles Heyward Foundation, we meet in a city centre location and we can help with travel costs. It is a safe and non judgemental space to meet and talk to other women who have had similar experiences, supported by experienced facilitators to help move forward.
The project offers –
- City centre group
- Friendly, informal and welcoming space
- Help with travel costs
- A structured, supportive programme
What group members have said about Inside Out –
“There is strength in numbers, I don’t feel like I’m doing this on my own anymore
I’ve started to learn that I can trust people and don’t think I’m being judged.
