Wow! at Women's Health Matters Fundraiser
Support us in our fundraising efforts as we walk 8 MILLION STEPS to support the #WomenOfWow
Our amazing Wow! project comes to an end in March, and without additional funding we will not be able to continue providing support to some of the most vulnerable women in Leeds.
Wow! supports and encourages women seeking asylum to be more physically active, focuses on building friendships, getting moving, getting to know their local community and enjoying the outdoors, improving mental health and well-being in the process.
In a bid to raise awareness of the importance of physical health, its positive impact on mental well-being and to raise £10,000 to continue our work, the WHM staff team will be walking an incredible 1 MILLION steps every week for 8 weeks starting November 17th!
Every £1 donated will be match funded by the National Emergencies Trust Local Action Fund . To support us and make a donation, please click on the link below.
What will the money raised do?
- £250 will enable us to provide 6 sessions of physical activity for up to 10 women seeking asylum, allowing them to try different activities that they may not otherwise have the opportunity to take part in.
- £1,000 will ensure that we can refund weekly travel costs to 10 women for 5 months allowing them to access our various activity classes.
- £1,500 will allow us to film 3 of our sessions and create a video sharing the positivity experienced in our group and encouraging others to become more active.
- £10,000 will mean that we can do all of the above and pay someone to be in the office to organise all the events, manage referrals, complete paperwork and all the tasks that go on behind the scenes to enable such a project to run smoothly for 5 months.
