Bluebirds

Project Overview
Funded by the Ministry of Justice, Bluebirds is a project for women and girls aged 11+ who have experienced domestic abuse and/or sexual violence, and as a result, are experiencing mental ill-health. Bluebirds offers an online group for women to aid in trauma recovery and one-to-one support for those most in need.
Project Outcomes
Bluebirds will give women and girls:​​

Increased knowledge on trauma and it's affects

Feel safer

Develop coping strategies that allow them to better manage difficult emotions such as anxiety and depression

Develop coping strategies to better manage stressful situations

Be able to identify their own needs and use self-care techniques
Project Offer
Bluebirds One-to-one offers: ​

Up to six sessions of one-to-one support

Support can be in person, over the phone or online (via Zoom)

Transport costs for in-person sessions.

Bluebird Group offers:

Loaning of digital devices (such as laptops and tablets) to aid in accessing the Bluebirds online course can be discussed where needed. The loaning of devices is at WHM's discretion and is dependent on waiting lists. ​
