Funded by the Ministry of Justice, Bluebirds is a project for women and girls aged 11+ who have experienced domestic abuse and/or sexual violence, and as a result, are experiencing mental ill-health. Bluebirds offers two small groups (one online and one in-person) to aid in trauma recovery. Please indicate whether online or in-person group is preferred in your referral. Please note this is not a domestic abuse educational programme.
We also offer one-to-one practical and emotional support, for internal referrals, with workers taking a trauma-informed approach to support women and girls to address worries and develop coping strategies to manage anxiety. Please note one-to-one work is only for women and girls already active in service with WHM. You cannot externally refer into Bluebirds one-to-one support.
Group will give women and girls:
Increased knowledge on trauma and it's affects
Develop coping strategies that allow them to better manage difficult emotions such as anxiety and depression
Develop coping strategies to better manage stressful situations
Be able to identify their own needs and use self-care techniques
Support with transport to sessions
