Bluebirds

Project Overview

Funded by the Ministry of Justice, Bluebirds is a project for women and girls aged 11+ who have experienced domestic abuse and/or sexual violence, and as a result, are experiencing mental ill-health. Bluebirds offers three groups (one online, one in-person and one for girls) to aid in trauma recovery. Please indicate whether the online or in-person group is preferred in your referral. 

Please note this is not a domestic abuse educational programme. 

Project Outcomes

Group will give women and girls:​​ 

  • Increased knowledge on trauma and it's affects 

  • Feel safer 

  • Develop coping strategies that allow them to better manage difficult emotions such as anxiety and depression 

  • Develop coping strategies to better manage stressful situations 

  • Be able to identify their own needs and use self-care techniques 

Project Offer

Bluebirds offers: 

  • Support with transport to sessions 

  • Refreshments 

  • One to one support for those at greatest need 

  • Some sessions provide a creche for women with children under 5.
