The Key Change: Assemblies and Workshops for Schools
At Women's Health Matters, we support girls and young women to feel informed, confident, and empowered in their health, well-being and relationships. The Key Change brings this work into schools, colleges, and alternative provisions through carefully designed assemblies and workshops for girls aged 11-18.

Delivered by experienced, trauma-informed facilitators, The Key Change creates safe, supportive spaces where girls can explore topics that affect their everyday lives, including mental health, self-esteem, healthy relationships, consent, body image, self-harm and online safety. Schools can choose from whole-school assemblies, focused workshop sessions or carousel days that explore multiple topics in an engaging and accessible way.
The Key Change aims to equip girls with practical strategies to navigate challenges, build resilience and develop healthy, respectful relationships. By working in partnership with schools, we help create environments where girls feel heard, supported and better prepared to thrive.

What We Offer:
The Key Change offers a flexible range of assemblies, workshops and carousel days designed to meet the well-being needs of girls aged 11-18. Schools can choose the format that works best for their setting, timetable and priorities, with all topics tailored to be age-appropriate, inclusive and supportive.
-
Assemblies
Our assemblies offer a clear and engaging way to explore important well-being topics with larger groups of girls. Delivered in a supportive and age-appropriate way, assemblies are suitable for whole year groups or targeted cohorts, and can be tailored to reflect the school's priorities.
Assemblies explore topics such as mental health, self-esteem, healthy relationships, consent, body image, self-harm and online safety, while encouraging reflection and discussion. This is not an exhaustive list, and we are happy to discuss alternative or additional topics to meet the needs of additional schools.
This format works particularly well for raising awareness, starting conversations, and reinforcing whole-school well-being messages in a consistent and accessible way.
-
Workshops
Our workshops provide a more interactive and in-depth learning experience for smaller groups of girls. Delivered as a standalone workshop or as a short programme, this format allows space for discussion, reflection, and skill-building in a safe and supportive environment.

Workshops focus on helping girls build confidence, manage emotions, develop healthy relationships, and make informed, safe choices. Sessions are designed to be practical and relevant, supporting girls to recognise why they or their peers may need additional help and how to seek support.

Workshops are particularly effective for schools looking to offer targeted support, deepen understanding or provide ongoing well-being education alongside existing provisions.
-
Carousel Days
The Key Change can be delivered as part of an existing school carousel day, with Women's Health Matters attending as one of the external providers. In this format, we deliver a docused workshop to rotating groups of students throughout the day.

Schools can select a specific topic for the workshop, which is then delivered consistently to each cohort. Where capacity allows, we may be able to offer two different workshops running concurrently.

This option enables schools to include The Key Change within a wider programme of learning, while ensuring students benefit from a safe, supportive, and high-quality workshop delivered by experienced facilitators.

Why This Work Is Important
Supporting girls' well-being is an essential part of creating safe, inclusive and supportive school environments. The Key Change complements existing school provision by creating space for open, age-appropriate conversations and practice learning around topics that affect girls' everyday lives.

By working in partnership with schools, Women's Health Matters helps to strengthen well-being education and support girls to develop confidence, resilience and healthy relationships, both in and beyond the classroom.
