Creche Support Worker (x5)

WHM are looking for a team of creche support workers to support our experienced play-worker in our creche for babies and pre-school children whilst parents attend one of our groups.

The role will include setting up and cleaning down the creche area, preparing and delivering small group/individual activities as directed by the play-worker, and preparing and providing refreshments.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Role Title                                           Creche Support Worker

Hours                                                 A minimum commitment of 2-3 hours per week

                                                       (Group sessions may take place at other locations depending on project)

Reports to                                        Group Project Lead

This role will require a DBS check

Main purpose of the role

To support Playworker with the facilitation of creche facility for babies and pre-school children whilst parents attend one of our groups.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Key Tasks

• Setting up the room

• Supporting women and their children into the room and making them feel welcome.

• Creating and promoting a warm, nurturing environment through play and positive interactions

• Supporting and enhancing the children’s self-chosen play

• Getting to know the children and their interests and needs

• Supporting playworker with group activities.

• Supporting worker in keeping the environment safe and clean.

• Writing ‘snapshot’ observations of the children (this is optional and additional support will be offered)

• Helping with planning for the children’s interests and needs (this is optional and additional support will be offered)

• Abide by and implement all WHM’s policies and procedures

• Articulate and promote WHM’s philosophy and value base through the organisation, it’s work and projects with external partners and on social media.

• To be accountable to WHM members and Board of Trustees.
