Volunteer Social Media Communication Ambassador
WHM are looking for a team of communication ambassadors to run our social media platforms, website and blog and get our important message across. We are looking for individuals who can take initiative and lead a social media campaign with an interest in furthering women’s rights. Experience of the major social media platforms is essential.
The role will involve supporting the creation and implementation of a new communications/ social media strategy to attract potential funders, spread our message and support our women. This strategy would be a new venture for WHM and so offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact. This will involve monitoring and creating content for our social media platforms, liaising with staff members about projects, responding to tags and messages from other organisations, and designing WHM’s campaigns for international and national holidays such as International Women’s Day. These are suggestions of the role’s responsibilities and there is a large scope role expansion for those with initiative.

We are looking for volunteers with some of the following skills, however training will be provided.
Computer literacy
Experience of planning and implementing a social media strategy
Experience of monitoring and creating content on social media platforms
Excellent written communication skills
Good understanding of WHM’s work and key messages
Understanding of confidentiality and handling sensitive information.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Hours A minimum commitment of 1-2 hours per week
Reports to Volunteer Co-Ordinator
Main purpose of the role
Along with other members of the administration team, run the social media platform, website and blog and get our important message across.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Implementing social media strategy
Attending regular meetings to develop WHM’s social media strategy
In putting idea’s on how to further develop the strategy
Input and review the development of WHM’s social media policy
Managing social media platforms
Creating content for social media platforms
Liaising with WHM Staff team about projects
Responding to tags and messages from other organisations
Designing WHM’s campaigns for international and national holidays such as International Women’s Day
Contributing to website content
Linking social media and website content
Updating website blogs
Abide by and implement all WHM’s policies and procedures
Articulate and promote WHM’s philosophy and value base through the organisation, it’s work and projects with external partners and on social media.
To be accountable to WHM members and Board of Trustees.
As this is a new role within WHM, there is a large scope for role expansion for those with initiatives.
