Welcoming our New Chair and Trustees
At Women's Health Matters, we are committed to ensuring that our leadership reflects the values and vision of the organisation: empowering women and girls to live safe and healthy lives. Since March 2025, our Board of Trustees has seen some exciting changes, and we're delighted to share them with you.
A New Chair
Hannah, who has been part of the WHM family since 2013, stepped into the role of Chair of Trustees this March. As Chair, Hannah plays a vital role in leading the board, ensuring good governance, and supporting the organisation to achieve its vision and mission. With a postgraduate diploma in Youth and Community Development, and a 15-year career in youth work, specialising in participation, Hannah brings extensive experience and insight into the structural inequalities that affect women's lives.
"I’m honoured to step into the role of Chair and continue supporting WHM’s mission to empower women and girls across Leeds."
Welcoming Six New Trustees
Joining our board this year are six passionate and skilled trustees, each bringing unique expertise and perspectives.

"I am excited to contribute my skills and passion for social justice to women's health and well-being, to help further the impactful work already being done by a great team."
Sandra has had a diverse and accomplished career in the beauty and education sectors. She was Head Colourist at Harrods before setting up her own successful business in Leeds, where she runs training workshops for both new and experienced hairdressers. With her experience in empowering women through her career, Sandra joins WHM as a trustee with a passion for helping women realise their potential and supporting the organisation’s mission.
"Supporting women to feel confident and reach their potential has always been my passion — I’m thrilled to bring this to my role as a trustee at WHM."

Strengthening Our Board and Our Vision
The addition of these trustees reinforces WHM's commitment to a holistic, women-centred approach to supporting women and girls. Their combined experience in social justice, advocacy, health, wellbeing, and empowerment perfectly aligns with our mission to support disadvantaged and marginalised women and girls in Leeds.
Join Us
We are always looking to strengthen our board with women who share our vision and values. We particularly welcome applications from women with life experiences of our services or other similar services within the city. Trustees do not need to be professionals; what matters most is a commitment to making a difference in the lives of women and girls. If you would like to play a role in shaping the future of WHM, we would love to hear from you.
Together, with our new chair and trustees, we look forward to continuing to provide safe, empowering, and life-changing support to women and girls across Leeds.
